Bed Frames
Bed frames connect the mattress you sleep on with the proportions of the bedroom. Start with compatibility: the frame must suit the actual mattress size and the support it requires. Then consider how high the finished sleeping surface will sit and how the frame’s edges affect getting in, changing sheets and walking beside it. A familiar size name does not answer all of these questions.

This collection focuses on the structure beneath and around the mattress. Compare each item’s stated support, included parts and outer measurements before choosing its visible finish. The Beds category helps with the wider room arrangement. Bring your mattress details to benssur if you need help checking a shortlisted frame.

Match the support system to the mattress you will use
Measure an existing mattress and check its maker’s support instructions before choosing a replacement frame. If you are buying both together, compare the mattress and frame specifications as a pair. Slats, a platform or another stated base arrangement can have different requirements; the frame’s size label does not establish suitability for every mattress type.
Read the supplied-parts list, including any centre support or legs described. Ask about information that is missing rather than assuming it is included. Queen bed frames and king bed frames narrow the size search, but the actual support details still decide whether a particular frame suits your mattress.
Measure the frame edges as well as the sleeping surface
The outer frame can extend beyond the mattress at its sides, head or foot. Those edges affect a narrow bedroom and the reach to bedside furniture. Use the full assembled measurements on your floor plan, then allow access for changing sheets and moving past the bed. Packaging measurements describe delivery, not this finished footprint.
Combine mattress thickness with the stated base height to assess getting in and out. A deep mattress on a higher frame may feel different from the product photograph. Compare bedside-table height from this finished level too. If you are keeping a separate bedhead, confirm attachment or positioning requirements before treating it as compatible.
Choose a structure you can assemble and live around
Find out how the frame arrives and which parts require assembly. The size of a boxed component matters on stairs or through a hallway even when the assembled frame fits the room. Check access before ordering, then follow the selected frame’s instructions for assembly and any later tightening or maintenance.
Visible materials bring a second decision: timber bed frames reveal a different edge and surface from upholstered bed frames. Compare cleaning access around the base, the finish near bedding and any stated under-bed clearance. Storage should be assessed as its own function, so use storage beds when opening space and bedding storage are part of the brief.
